MAYs Pattaya

This is a well known Thai restaurant with plenty of reviews online. I’d like to share my own perspective, especially regarding some of the comments about the food quality and taste. Apart from the parking situation, which is definitely a major issue, and the fact that the prices are on the higher side, I honestly find very little to complain about. The overall dining atmosphere, food quality, and service were all excellent. Before visiting, I expected the portions to be quite small and the prices to be high, as this type of restaurant often tends to be. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The portions here are actually quite reasonable compared with typical Thai restaurants. What impressed me most was the presentation and seasoning of each dish. The clean, elegant presentation combined with well balanced flavors really brings out the essence of Thai cuisine a wonderful combination of taste, aroma, and visual appeal. The service was also attentive and well managed. And of course, their signature Thai curry is something not to be missed, rich, flavorful, and truly memorable. The lighting inside is slightly dim, but I actually think it works very well with the overall design. The atmosphere feels sophisticated and refined, and the interior styling gives the dining experience an extra touch of elegance. Overall, despite the parking difficulty and relatively high prices, I personally think the quality of the food, atmosphere, presentation, and service make this restaurant well worth experiencing.
MAYs Pattaya left a really good impression on me right away. The elegant decor and warm atmosphere made it feel like a nice place to slow down and enjoy the moment. It was an easy spot for a relaxing meal, and the setting itself added a lot to the experience. I’d happily come back.
Had a very enjoyable lunch here. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with lots of beautiful orchids and indoor plants, making the space feel warm, relaxing, and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive, and one thing I really appreciated was how accommodating they were with food preferences. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and they are happy to adjust dishes according to your requests. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Parking can be a bit challenging, especially during busy hours, but it's worth the effort once you're inside. Just one small suggestion for improvement: while there are still customers dining, it would be better not to clean tables using a strongly scented disinfectant spray. The smell was quite intense (similar to hospital-grade disinfectant) and briefly affected the dining experience. Perhaps waiting until guests leave or using a milder cleaning product would be more comfortable for everyone. Overall, a lovely restaurant with great food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Pattaya.
Visited MAYs Pattaya after hearing great things and seeing its Michelin Guide mention. Beautiful Thai-style restaurant near Thepprasit area, with lovely decor and a premium feel. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink and cold towels, which was a nice touch. The food was mostly excellent. The fried sea bass in red curry was absolutely incredible — easily one of the best dishes I’ve had in Thailand. Rich flavors of kaffir lime, lemongrass, chili, and coconut milk. Honestly unforgettable. The vegan som tam and spring rolls were very good, and the house curry chicken was tasty, though less memorable. Cocktails were well made with quality alcohol. Desserts were a surprise highlight — the banana roti dessert was out of this world and probably the best I’ve ever had. Only downside was the steamed sea bass with lemon, which felt disappointing — very little fish and mostly vegetables/bones, and even the staff struggled to explain it. Service was good, atmosphere pleasant and air-conditioned, though lighting was very dim (flashlight menu mode 😆). Total was around 3,200 THB for two. Not cheap, but fair for the quality. Would I come back? For the red curry fish and banana roti alone — absolutely. Michelin mention makes sense, Michelin star? Maybe not quite there yet.
Referred by a Canadian friend. Tucked inconspicuously between ordinary looking establishments. But gosh, the food is THE BOMB!! Haven’t had Thai dishes as flavorful and fulfilling as the one is this restaurant. Clearly the best one I have had. Totally nothing to complain about. Even the ambiance of the place looks cool. Do not miss this out when you visit to Pattaya!
