Weather Overview

Travelers usually come to Thailand from more temperate climes. It is nice to warm up with some delightful tropical weather. Pattaya has three seasons; although lately it has become increasingly difficult to predict when one season ends and the other has begun. Remember that "Pattaya is always hot".The seasons are normally:-

The Cool Season- November until January or February. The cool season has temperatures that range between 21-30 degrees Celsius .It is, however, quite common for the sun to get very hot in mid afternoon so don't leave your lotion at home!

The Hot Season- The hottest months are March, April and May. Expect highs between 33 and 40 and lows between 24 and 26 degrees. It is very hot and humid.

The Rainy Season- Affected by the monsoon the rains fall between June and October. These tropical downpours can be extremely heavy, but normally only last for a short time. Flooding can occur, although in Pattaya the water drains away quite quickly. Between storms the weather will hover around the 30 degree mark with many clear and pleasant days.

Offshore and Onshore Breezes. As the land heats faster than the sea during the day, a slight wind develops from the sea towards the land. This is the onshore breeze effect. In the evenings the opposite effect occurs leading to an offshore breeze.

In the morning you can take advantage of the onshore wind and in the evening whilst enjoying an alfresco dinner, you will be grateful for the offshore wind freshening the muggy air.
