Local people believe that the spirit of the mountain protects the fishermen from harm.You will see at the top of the hill are Khao Sam Muk shrine and a spectacular view spot.The Khao Sam Muk area is inhabited by a larger number of wild rhesus monkeys and beautiful cactus garden.
Feeding the monkeys is permitted, although visitors are asked only to use the food bought at the stalls (bananas, mini-cucumbers and string beans).
The monkeys will approach you to get their food from your hand. Do not stroke them.
