The hotel has a very impressive lobby that is spacious, clean, and welcoming. Its location is also a major advantage, as it is close to nightlife, right in the middle of a busy market area, and gives you a good opportunity to experience the local culture. The night market on the main street near the hotel was lively and full of activity, which made the overall location a strong highlight of our stay. That said, the experience was very mixed. The staff at the check-in and checkout counter need much better training in customer service and guest relations. The handling of the deposit was also disappointing, especially since the full amount was withheld because of a few stains on the bedsheet. In our experience, that is not a fair approach for a hotel stay, particularly when the rest of the room was used normally. The room itself was only average. While the linen was clean and the bedding was comfortable, the room and bathroom both felt outdated and in need of renovation. There was also a noticeable mouldy smell in parts of the property, and the bathroom drainage was poor, causing water to splash around the floor. The washroom fittings were low and uncomfortable to use. Soundproofing was weak as well, and we could clearly hear people walking in the corridors. Security was another concern. There was little control over lift access, and random people were able to tailgate guests, which made us feel uncomfortable, especially while traveling as a family. Housekeeping was also not very responsive and would not clean the room unless specifically requested. Even then, service was slow. Several facilities advertised by the hotel, including the swimming pool, gym, and conference rooms, were not operational during our stay, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the hotel does offer plenty of parking, which is convenient for local travelers. Overall, the property has a great location and a good lobby, but the room quality, service, security, and maintenance fall well below expectations. It has potential, but at present it does not deliver any valuable experience.
